On January 1, 2018, California legalized cannabis use by adults 21 and older. All businesses that cultivate, manufacture, distribute, sell and test cannabis in San Francisco must have both a city Cannabis Business Permit and a California license.

All cannabis businesses operating in San Francisco must have a permit to operate. You can apply for a permit now if you are an Equity Applicant, an Equity Incubator, or a pre-existing cannabis business in San Francisco.

New businesses who are verified as Equity Applicants can apply for permits now.

Tell the City you want to be an Equity Incubator

Cannabis businesses that partner with an Equity Applicant can apply for permits now.
